§ 7.2
A 48-hour plan, step by step
Two nights, built around one evening show. Every step refers to a fact elsewhere in this handbook, so you can check it before you rely on it.
7.2.1Before you leave home
- Choose the show night from 4.1. In November 2026, Yuk Yuk's had a headliner every Friday and Saturday.
- Choose the room type from chapter 2: King, Double Queen or King Suite.
- Send the request form with your arrival time and the show you have tickets for.
- Buy show tickets through the hotel (concerts) or Yuk Yuk's (comedy). Our desk does not sell tickets.
7.2.2Day 1, Friday
| Time | Step | Reference |
|---|---|---|
| Afternoon | Arrive by car and leave it in the free heated garage, or ride the Capital Line to Belvedere | 6, 6.1 |
| After check-in | Settle in; every room lists a coffee machine, microwave and mini-fridge | 2 |
| From 4 pm | Dinner at Mid City Grill, open Thursday to Sunday from 4 pm according to its October 2026 hours line | 3 |
| 6:30 pm | Doors open at Yuk Yuk's one hour before a 7:30 pm show; seating is first come, first served | 4 |
| 7:30 pm | Friday show, about 90 minutes to two hours | 4.1 |
| Late | Celly's Sports Bar & Lounge, if its posted hours still hold (to 2 am in the 2025 listing) | 3 |
7.2.3Day 2, Saturday: choose one track
Option A — downtown
- Walk to Belvedere station and take the Capital Line south-west into downtown.
- Spend the day at the Royal Alberta Museum, north of City Hall.
- Return by train in time for dinner on Fort Road, or stay downtown for an Oilers game at Rogers Place and use the transit route in 6 to come back.
Option B — racing (May to September, or a harness day in fall and winter)
- Check that Century Mile has live racing that day; see 5.1.
- Drive about 38 km south to the track near the airport. Admission and parking are free on race days, according to Discover Leduc.
- Back on Fort Road in the evening, the off-track lounge shows racing from other tracks.
Option C — a slow day
- Morning swim at Clareview Community Recreation Centre, one stop north; see 7.1.
- Lunch at Londonderry Mall, about 2.7 km away.
- An afternoon drive to Elk Island National Park, about 35 km east of Edmonton along the Yellowhead Highway.
7.2.4Day 2 evening and Day 3
- Saturday shows at Yuk Yuk's in November 2026 were at 7 pm and 9:30 pm; if Friday was comedy, a Showroom concert makes a change — ask our desk what is on.
- Sunday morning: check-out time is not published, so confirm it at check-in.
- Collect the car from the garage and leave without scraping a windshield — the reason many people stay here in winter.
- Heading to the airport: about 39 km by car, or Route 747 from Century Park after the train.
7.2.5If you only have 24 hours
Keep Day 1 as written and leave after a late breakfast in the city — the Grill's October hours start at 4 pm, so morning food is not something we can promise on the property. A single night on a Friday or Saturday is the most common use of a small hotel attached to a showroom, and it is the one that sells out first.
Opening hours in this plan come from the hotel's pages on the dates shown in chapter 3.Official site: cnty.com/edmonton ↗
