Parking: free, and partly heated
Parking is the most practical advantage of this hotel, especially between November and March. Here are the numbers, where they come from and what they do not tell you.
6.1.1The numbers
| Place | Spaces | Cost | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Underground garage, heated | About 300 | Complimentary | Century Casinos Form 10-K; hotel home page |
| Surface lots at the property | About 600 | Not stated as paid | Century Casinos Form 10-K |
| Belvedere LRT Park & Ride, 62 Street and 129 Avenue | 761 stalls, 5 carpool stalls | Free and paid stalls | City of Edmonton |
The operator's annual report describes the property as “the only casino in the market to offer a complimentary heated parking garage”. That is its claim about its competitors, not our finding. What we can say is that the garage is free and heated according to both the home page and the filing.
6.1.2Why a heated garage matters here
- No scraping, no block heater. A car parked indoors overnight starts in the morning without a cord or an ice scraper.
- Luggage stays dry. In spring and autumn the problem is slush rather than snow; the garage solves both.
- Late arrivals. Leaving the car indoors after a late show is safer and simpler than walking a large surface lot in the dark.
- Overnight guests and event guests share it. On a Showroom night the garage serves everyone in the building, not just the 26 rooms upstairs. Arrive early if you want a space indoors.
6.1.3What the hotel does not publish
- Clearance height of the garage — relevant for vans, roof boxes and pick-up trucks with racks.
- Electric vehicle charging — not mentioned on any page we read.
- Overnight rules for trailers or recreational vehicles in the surface lots.
- Whether hotel guests have reserved spaces.
If any of these decide your trip, put the question in the “Notes for the desk” box. We will ask before anything is confirmed.
6.1.4The Park & Ride next door
The City of Edmonton runs a Park & Ride at Belvedere LRT station, listed at 62 Street and 129 Avenue, with 761 stalls, a mix of free and paid, and five carpool stalls; the maximum stay at all its lots is 24 hours. It exists for transit riders, not for the hotel. We mention it only so that you do not confuse it with the hotel's own parking when you arrive.
6.1.5Using the car once you are here
- Downtown. About 7.5 km to Rogers Place. The train from Belvedere means you do not have to look for a space downtown.
- Commonwealth Stadium. About 5.4 km. On a game day, the train is usually the less stressful choice.
- Century Mile racetrack. About 38 km south. There, according to Discover Leduc, parking is free on race days.
- Elk Island National Park. About 35 km east of Edmonton along the Yellowhead Highway, by Wikipedia's description — a car trip, not a transit one.
