§ 2.1

The King room

The hotel's standard room for one or two people. One king-size pillow-top bed and the same practical kit as the other types.

Section checked against sources on 31 October 2026. Independent guide — not the hotel's website.

2.1.1What the hotel lists

The King room description is short, so we reproduce its list in full and in the hotel's order:

  1. Non-smoking.
  2. King-sized plush pillow-top bed.
  3. Individually controlled heating and air-conditioning system.
  4. 32″ LCD television.
  5. Keurig coffee machine.
  6. Ice bucket.
  7. Iron and ironing board.
  8. Microwave.
  9. Alarm clock.
  10. Mini-fridge.

The text around the list calls the hotel “a relaxing retreat in the hub of entertaining amenities” and suggests you “unwind in our King Room after taking in a Showroom concert or Yuk Yuk's comedy show”. That sentence tells you who the room is written for.

2.1.2Reading the list as a guest

  1. Heating you control yourself. “Individually controlled” means a unit or thermostat in the room, not a building-wide setting. In an Edmonton winter, being able to turn the heat up without calling the desk matters.
  2. Microwave and mini-fridge. Useful if you arrive after the kitchen closes or want to keep leftovers from the grill. Mid City Grill's posted hours in October 2026 were Thursday to Sunday, 4 pm to midnight, so on other nights this pair earns its place.
  3. Coffee in the room. A single-cup machine rather than a kettle. If you drink tea, mention it in your request.
  4. Iron and board. Handy for a wedding reception or a work day at one of the nearby business parks.

2.1.3Who should pick the King

2.1.4Questions worth adding to your request

  1. Ask whether a quieter room away from the showroom side is possible on a concert night — the hotel does not publish floor plans, so only the desk can say.
  2. Ask about early check-in if you arrive on a morning flight; check-in times are not published.
  3. Ask about a crib or rollaway bed if you need one; neither is mentioned on the room page.
  4. Mention any mobility need so the desk can check the room before confirming.
