The casino floor, described neutrally
This is a hotel handbook, not a gambling guide. We describe what the casino is, when it is open, who may enter and who regulates it, because those facts affect a hotel stay. We do not recommend games, list promotions or describe ways to win.
5.AOpening hours
| Days | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 9:30 am to 4:00 am |
| Friday, Saturday, Sunday | Open 24 hours |
The same hours appear on the hotel's home page captured in September 2026 and on its slots page captured in July 2026. For a hotel guest the practical effect is that the ground floor is busy late on weekends; noise inside the hotel wing is not something the hotel describes, so if you are a light sleeper, mention it in your request.
5.BWho may enter
- Age 18 or over. Alberta's casino terms define a minor as a person under 18, and minors may not enter gaming areas.
- Government-issued ID. Required at the entrance to the casino and to Yuk Yuk's, according to the club's information.
- Self-excluded persons. People enrolled in the provincial self-exclusion programme agree not to enter Alberta casinos; see chapter 12.1.
- Hotel guests under 18. The hotel pages do not describe any rule for minors staying in the hotel wing. Ask before planning a stay with anyone under 18.
5.CWhat the operator reports is on the floor
Numbers for the floor vary depending on which document you read, which is a useful reminder that marketing pages round upwards and legal filings do not.
| Source | Gaming machines | Live tables | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Century Casinos, Form 10-K for 2025 | 792, including video lottery terminals | 23 | As of 31 Dec 2025 |
| Hotel's casino page | “830+” | “20+”; another page says “over 30” | Capture of 29 Jun 2026 |
| AGLC casino listing | Slot machines, electronic table games, VLTs | Live table games (no count) | Read 31 Oct 2026 |
The 10-K also gives the casino area as about 24,685 sq ft on a site of about 6.0 acres. Table games named on a 2025 page include blackjack, roulette, several poker and baccarat variants; there is also a high-limit area with a private salon, which the operator calls “Alberta's most exquisite high limit gaming room”. That last phrase is the operator's claim, and we repeat it only as such.
5.DRegulation in plain words
- The regulator. The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) licenses the casino.
- Who runs the games. Century's own filing says it has an agreement with the AGLC to provide gaming facility operation services as the commission's agent, so in accounting terms the AGLC, not the player, is Century's customer.
- Loyalty. Alberta runs a province-wide loyalty programme, Winner's Edge, implemented by the AGLC, and the hotel mentions it on several pages. We mention its existence only; we do not describe benefits.
- Who owns the building. The 10-K states that the real estate is owned by subsidiaries of VICI PropCo and leased to Century under a master lease. That changes nothing for a guest, but it explains why the operator's documents talk about leases.
5.EOff-track betting
The building includes an off-track betting parlour: a lounge where races from other tracks are shown on screens and wagers on them are taken. The hotel's page describes simulcasting from tracks in North America and Australia seven days a week, a dining area, bars and 14 mounted HD televisions. The same company runs Century Mile, the live racetrack south of the city, and most of Alberta's off-track betting network; section 5.1 covers that connection.
5.FIf gambling is not part of your trip
Most of what a hotel guest uses — the rooms, the garage, the Grill, the Showroom, the comedy club — can be reached without spending time on the gaming floor, although the floor plan is not published and you may walk past it. If you want to avoid the casino entirely, say so in your request and we will ask the hotel about the most direct route from the garage and the entrance to the hotel desk.
