Groups, receptions and meetings

The building was designed to host crowds — a 500-seat Showroom, private rooms and meeting space. What it cannot do is sleep a large group: there are 26 hotel rooms. This chapter explains both halves.

8.1The spaces the hotel offers

8.2Weddings and receptions

The room. The hotel offers the Showroom for wedding receptions, “seating up to 500 guests”, with a professional-grade stage, sound and lighting, a full production team, a fully licensed bar and catering options.
The rooms upstairs. With 26 rooms in total, a hotel block for a large wedding will cover the wedding party and close family, not every guest. Plan on other hotels for the rest — or on the free garage and taxis.
The suite. The King Suite, with its living room and one and a half baths, works as a base for getting ready.
Our role. We do not sell event packages. We can ask about room availability for your date and pass your contact to the hotel's own events team.

8.3Corporate functions and conferences

The corporate page describes a team of “experienced event planners and coordinators” who adapt the spaces to the group, from panel discussions and presentations to break-out groups, catered dinners and casual buffet lunches. The conferences page lists catering, coffee service and audio-visual projection equipment, and suggests the rooms for presentations, interviews, client pitches and training. The event-venue page adds that hotel room packages can be combined with an event.

For a one-day meeting. Free parking and an LRT station next door make it easy for local attendees to arrive.
For a two-day training. Out-of-town trainers can stay upstairs; a block of a few rooms is realistic, a block of twenty is not.
For an evening event. The Showroom, with its own stage and bar, can host a dinner and entertainment in the same space.

8.4Parties and fundraisers

For smaller celebrations the hotel speaks of “multiple private party rooms” and “a unique space for all party sizes and budgets”. For fundraising, Yuk Yuk's offers a “Comedy For A Cause” package, mentioned on the hotel's shows page. Neither page publishes prices or capacities.

8.5How to request rooms for a group

Use the request form and choose “Event, wedding or group” as the purpose.
Give the event date, the number of rooms and the room types you would like.
Say whether the event itself is already booked with the hotel.
We reply by email with what the hotel or a booking partner can confirm. Nothing is held until you receive that confirmation.
